AEW Double or Nothing Sees Strong Advance PPV Buys, Sold Out with Nearly $1.5M Gate
Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that advance pay-per-view buys for AEW Double or Nothing are “way above normal” for an AEW PPV, though he noted most viewers still buy day-of and said he expects a “pretty big one” tonight. The early buying activity signals elevated interest in the event heading into the broadcast.
Meltzer credited the Darby Allin vs. MJF title vs. hair stipulation with a major boost to secondary-market demand, noting scalper prices rose to about $153—roughly triple levels from before the stipulation was announced. Double or Nothing is sold out with 14,028 tickets distributed and a gate nearing $1.5 million, which Meltzer says would rank as the second-biggest non-WWE U.S. gate in pro wrestling history.
