AJ Styles Praises Danhausen’s WWE Work, Reflects on Backstage Production Role
AJ Styles lauded Danhausen’s comedic contributions on The Phenomenally Retro Podcast, saying “He’s doing a great job, and this is what we need,” and stressing that WWE benefits from a mix of entertainment and storyline-driven wrestling. Styles pointed to Danhausen’s quick impact since debuting at Elimination Chamber and competing on his first Premium Live Event at Backlash, noting the character fills a unique role that helps give fans both laughs and investment.
Styles also opened up about his own post-retirement backstage work, revealing he stepped in to assist production for Evolve, including manning a headset and calling matches for TV to help an overburdened producer. He said the experience reinforced his desire to support developmental talent, and that he’s taken on multiple backstage roles to help elevate younger performers in WWE.
