Andrew’s JCW Lunacy Results & Match Ratings: Ep # 84

J-Rod looks for revenge, Caleb Konley may have to call someone’s Mama, and will we start to figure out who Joel Gertner is working with?

Published

on

Well at least this show is edited and not live like last week. So we should have audio the entire time! Vinny Ru is weilding the bat again. So we gets shades of WCW and early TNA. Hell, the whole Chosen One deal with Caleb reminds me of the AJ Styles angle in 2003 when he had the S.E.X. stable.

With Russo on edge, Caleb in 3 more weeks of hell, J-Rod, Sophia Rose, Alice Crowley and Dani Mo in parallel feuds there’s quite a few things going on. Gisele and Freya having a shot at joining JCW and Joel Gertner showing up was fun as well.

Last week was marred with productions issues, but there is a lot going on to be interested in.

Motor City Mauling: J-Rod vs Sophia Rose

Sophia jumps off a fountain, J-Rod catches her and slams her on a park bench. Drop Toe Hold from Sophia into the bench, Sophia grabs the women’s title and beats on J-Rod with it, throws her into a chain length fence and J-Rod gets some distance and connects with a big boot. J-Rod tries to hit Sophia with a bag of dogshit, Sophia stops it for moment, but a Spear from J-Rod gives her the chance to rub the bag of crap into Sophia’s face.

Dani Mo throws a trash can at J-Rod, lays her out, puts her in the trash can and walks off with the women’s championship. Dani is doing a better job at scorched Earth than The Boys did.

Violent J yells at Mac Davis for his crap last week. We then go to back to Vince reveling in his bat man persona again. Violent J walks in to confront Russo, still accusing him of Russo having Future Endeavors attack Willie and Tony.

Vito and his Luciano family have Yabo handcuffed to a radiator, kicking the crap out of him, telling him to participate in the match with them later or he ain’t gonna see Ruffo ever again.

Caleb Konley w/Vince Russo vs Ernest “The Cat” Miller

I do enjoy Russo on commentary during Caleb’s matches. Somebody call your Mama! Ernest Miller comes out as the surprise opponent! Vince tries to put a stop to this. Ernest Miller calls Caleb a nobody, Vince continues to try and put the kibosh on this match. Ernest wants a real opponent, not some nobody. Caleb gives Ernest some smoke, the referee looks petrified, Caleb keeps running his mouth and Ernest drops him out with a Sidekick.

The bell finally rings, but Vince keeps trying to stop it, Caleb slowly recovers, Cradle and Caleb steals the win after a lot of stalling and Shenanigans. Caleb never even took off his ring jacket, Ernest lays out the referee afterwards with the Sidekick.

Mac Davis is standing there with Dani Mo, Dani says she’s the champion because possession is 9/10ths of the law. She claims it was just laying on the ground, so she just gave it a home. Quirky and cute interaction, Dani is great, but I still rock with J-Rod.

The next vignette is Barnabas with the zombies in a rehab session. I never knew drug addicted wrestling zombies would be one of my favorite things in 2026.

Choppa City comes out demanding a match since they don’t have a match. The crowd seems behind this goofy chop gimmick, but it’s amusing at least.

Choppa City vs The Backseat Boyz (JP & Tommy Grayson)

Backseats were a surprise addition to Strangle-mania, but haven’t been seen since.

Atiba and JP start, JP hits a quick kick and forearm combo, tags in Tommy, a tandem elbow drop into a Splash for 2, another quick tag, Atiba getting Chipped but then Atiba with the Up and Over, drops the Elbow with the Smiley Swinging Slam. Atiba tags in Bruce, Chops for all. Quick tag back to Atiba, but Grayson show good synergy and awareness with a blind tag to lay out Atiba then Wishbone. Quick tags everywhere, tandem strikes into a Double Bulldog as JP keeps Atiba grounded with a Headlock and dropping in some knees. Atiba chops back up but eats a Dropkick. Grayson with the Acid Reflux for back to back to back near falls.

Ground and pound from Tommy, he taunts Bruce so they can double team Atiba behind the ref’s back. JP is back in, they try a few assisted moves but Atiba is fighting back, lays out both Graysons and crawls to Bruce while the crowd chants Chop. Bruce Wayans Chop Socky for all, into a Leg Lariat on JP for a near fall. Bruce tries more Chops, misses and JP hits the Spicolli Driver, but then eats a Knee Lift from Atiba, Air Raid crash from Tommy before Bruce slams down Tommy and falls back winded.

Atiba and JP fire at each other, but a Hart Attack into a MCMG High Speed Dirt, but Bruce spears Tommy into the pile to break the fall. Spinebuster, Elbow, Power and Glory finish from Choppa City, but Tommy makes the save! Tommy knocks off Atiba, Bruce has them double goozled eventually, but the kick him in the balls and Double Crucifix Powerbomb for the win!

This crowd really loves to chant “You Suck Dick”. How is that an insult in 2026?

CoKane is in the back, sees a trail of cocaine leading up steps so he follows it all the way to Ring Rat bent over beckoning him. Steven Flowe attacks but CoKane turns it around instantly. Flowe says Rat is “Off the VIP list” so…that’s something.

More rehab time, but the zombies have found cocaine and a joint…in rehab. These are resourceful zombies.

Mac walks into the women’s bathroom seeing Alice at the sink. Alice snaps at Mac, but then Ring Rat is heard moaning in a stall saying something about starting her day “caffeinated and masturbated”, Rat sprays Alice with perfume and then shoves her head into a stall.

Yabo comes out in handcuffs with the rest of the Luciano family. Vito hits his usually promo of telling the juggalos to “wipe the shit off their faces”, but he’s gonna make an example of Yabo, as they finally uncuff him.

Sally Boy, Vincenzo & Yabo w/ Vito vs The Outbreak w/Barnabus & CoKane

Is it too on the nose to assume the dealer for the Outbreak is the one known as the “Devil’s favorite dealer”? Also what happened to HoKane?

CoKane pulls out a baggie of cocaine, the zombies want it. CoKane offers a line to Sally, but he slaps the line away. CoKane hits the uppercuts into a Blue Thunder Bomb. Sally slips the Scoop and Enzuigiri. Sal tags in Vincenzo, only about a 1 count. Vincenzo and Sla are isolating CoKane but also not tagging in Yabo yet, but CoKane tries to fire, a Knee Lift stuns CoKane and Sal falls back into Vincenzo. An Elbow Drop, a few punches and a Headlock, but CoKane starts to fire. CoKane gets shoved into a corner, flips up and back, Back Handspring Cutter, more coke from CoKane, but Flowe tries to interfere, CoKane takes Steven to the corwd and brawl away. Ring Rat is out and Alice followed her out from the bathroom. Al hits the Saito Suplex on Rat, but Sally Boy gets in and now Yabo comes in but lays out Sally Boy so The Outbreak get the pinfall.

The Luciano Family beats on Yabo after he screwed them. They cuff him back up and Yabo is no closer to finding Ruffo.

There’s a Green Phantom segment afterwards. Phantom is getting ghosted by JCW but he leaves a voicemail, begging for another chance claiming he’s still the hero JCW needs.

Gisele Shaw vs Freya the Slaya w/Breyer Wellington

Freya throws her leather jacket at Gisele instantly, and starts beating on her early. Freya is still annoyed she lost the first match last week. Freya ties Gisele in the ropes, bends her backwards and lands a few kicks before talking smack tot he crowd. Gisele kicks out at one, as the Arctic Amazon continues and tries to choke out Gisele. Gisele fires up Gisele tries to whip Freya, but Freya puts the brakes on, catches the rope run into an Uranage Back Breaker and then Ground and Pound from Freya.

Gisele tries to fight back from the corner, but Freya is shrugging off the chops as Freya hits a Double Chop right across the chest. Big Splash in the corner, looks for the cannonball, but Gisele moves! Gisele uses the opening to finally get in some combination strikes, Push Kick bounces Freya off the ropes and into a Spinebuster from Gisele for two. Gisele with triplicate Uppercuts, Gamengiri into a Tornado DDT, and only two. Freya has a Cobra Clutch, tries a Rainmaker, but Gisele kicks the arm and jumps on her back for a Rear Naked Choke. Freya turns it into a Backpack Stunner and only two count.

Breyer wants Freya to finish her and he’s on the apron. Gisele wiggles out, shoves Freya into Breyer, Gisele hits a Michinoku Driver and sweeps the 2 out of 3 Match series! Gisele wins the JCW contract!

Mac Davis calls Father Bronson to the ring for an interview. Bronson says he forgives Mac Davis for his interference. Mac asks if he’s a pastor, he says, “he is, whatever you say he is”. He claims he’s not a gimmick, or a hand gesture…he’s inevitable. Facade comes out still annoyed at Mac, but Bronson cuts him off. Mac is trying to back down like Violent J said, Bronson is saying violence is not the answer, once Facade turns, Mac Davis with the Low Blow and then Bronson locks in his Texas Cloverleaf to make sure Facade understands the statement. He throws a rose at Facade and says “Get some ice on that”, as he walks off.

Matt Cross is in the back looking for Shane Mercer right before the main event match. Violent J, Tony and Willie Mack are standing over Shane Mercer. Tony says he’s not sure it was them, Violent J says of course it was, so they keep beating on Shane. So J is making enemies for the tag champs, maybe we will see Future Endeavors get a title match fairly soon.

Handicap Match: Future Endeavors vs Kerry Morton

Violent J is on commentary for this match. The music hits and Matt Cross is the only one coming out, Shane really is laid out…for now at least.

Kerry charges Matt, Matt ducks it and grabs a headlock as they wrestle for position, Kerry gets an early Shoulder Tackle and Arm Drag into an Armbar. Kerry is actually wrestling fairly well, no arrogant dork boy stuff so far. Irish Whip from the corner, but Cross gets the feet up, Cartwheels away from the charge, Headscissors , but they both charge to the corner and both counter each other. Kerry tries a flash Cradle pinfall but it’s only two. Kerry with the corner to corner Chops, kicks the inside of the thigh, Snapmare, and knees to the back. Kerry is surprisingly focused in this match. He goes up, but gets crotched and spills to the mat. Matt hits the Pop-Up Manhattan Drop, then starts to choke Kerry on the ropes. Matt Cross shoves the referee who tries to break the choke, the referee has a look on his face…this could end in a DQ if Cross continues to be a hot head.

Cross has Kerry up off a Rope Run, looks like it might be a Blue Thunder Bomb, but he holds it, and then just drops Kerry into a Backbreaker. Kerry powders, tries to charge back in but Cross takes his head off. Cross takes too long being methodical, Kerry fires with a bunch of Chops, but eats a Front Kick from Cross into a nearfall. Kerry gets propped in the corner, Cross peppers a few strikes, Shoulder Tackles, and then a Hard Irish Whip sends Kerry tumbling into the buckles in a heap. Kerry gets his boots up, a few punches and a Dropkick later, Kerry starts rolling.

Hip Attack into a Flying Forearm, and Kerry is firing, Kip-Up, Kerry lowers the knee pad and goes for Kiss it Goodbye, but Cross pulls the referee into the line of fire. CROSS CUTTER! Cross wants a Shooting Star, but 2 Tuff Tony and Willie Mack attack Cross while the referee is laid out. The referee wakes up eventually to call for the bell and make the match a No Contest.

This was actually a really solid match before the assault happened. Kerry is trying to stop the Meteorite, but it connects with Cross. Willie goes up for the 6 Star Frog Splash. Kerry walks in to argue with Tony and Willie. They tell Kerry just to leave the ring, but Kerry is upset because he wanted a real finish. Cross gets dumped out of the ring after a decent length beatdown.

Joel Gertner closes the show. Goes through his usual sing songy ECW lewd intro, which has a level of charm and feels correct for JCW. Well, Well, Well…we still have no clue who he’s working with. He says he won’t give hints, then proceeds to say Chuck Norris level comments like “The Weather uses him as a weapon”, “He once got busy in a Burger King Bathroom, at McDonalds”, “He participated in the Summer Olympics for Narnia”. The only thing that might be a hint is he says we’ll have to wait and “feast our eyes” on him. Now that is a common idiom, but it could be a Dijak reference.

Overall Score: 6.75/10

In typical JCW fashion, the wrestling was spotty and marred with a lot of interreference and overbooking, but I personally find it a little more forgivable, due to how the show is framed. It’s supposed to be an outlaw, hardcore, underground brand…so wrapping things up neatly isn’t really something that should be expected. It’s literally a show run by clowns…so…can’t really claim you expected something different, ya know?

I would’ve liked to see a longer actual match with J-Rod, but that’s mostly because I really enjoy everything about J-Rod. Dani stealing the title is great too since Dani is fantastic as well, but I just don’t want an eventual match between them to end up with Big Al or Sophia interfering just because the angles intersected instead of played out in a parallel way. Could this turn into a 4 way dance for the Women’s Championship or even 5 depending on how fast they want to push Gisele? Yes of course…I personally hope it doesn’t just because I want to see J-Rod get a real chance to defend the belt and show us what she’s got.

Father Bronson is such a cool character, I really am all for a quick ascent for him. He can talk, he’s got the size and seems to have a decent bag of moves from what we’ve seen. Kerry also did a lot of good work today showing he can actually wrestle when he’s not just being a little snotty pissboy. Caleb is just…a typical Russo Chosen one. Kinda underwhelming and wins via shenanigans. Still weird to think Caleb’s best gimmick was in TNA when he was with Tenille Dashwood as her photographer, “Kaleb…with a K”.

But hell, another two hour show that went hella quick. So as long as it stays fun and not brain stiflingly stupid like TNA yesterday, I will continue to rate the shows decently based on entertainment factor.
