Andrew’s MLW Fusion Results & Match Ratings: 5.30.2026

It’s been about 3 years since the last MLW Fusion episode. MLW then starting producing monthly events and revamping their roster. They have partnerships with Stardom, NJPW Strong and CMLL We’ll also see a lot of former WWE names along with a couple MLW originals and Lucha Underground adjacent stuff since Cesar Duran and Salina de la Renta have forged a lot of connections with the Lucha elite.

Let’s see what kind of show we get on this 2 hour/2 episode special!

Results:

Priscilla Kelly vs Shotzi Blackheart

The crowd is fully behind Shotzi.

PK misses with the quick boot and they trade early Cradles for the flash win things break down, Shotzi plants PK in the corner, hits a Tiger Feint and goes to follow up, but PK moves and starts he own offense, turning things around in the ropes and hitting a Senton from the apron. PK takes too long taunting the crowd and Shotzi hits a Low Rope dive to wipe out PK.

The back and forth on the apron goes both ways before PK hits an STO and then a few Kawada kicks. Shotzi retreats to the corner and PK hits the Bronco Buster, but only getting a two count. PK keeps wrist control sending Shotzi around and peppering in Forearms for good measure. Shotzi tries a flash Cradle, but PK kicks out and then snaps off a V Trigger out of frustration. Shotzi starts finding a few openings for elbows, but PK buckles her. Shotzi however grabs the wrist for a Pump Handle Suplex, before PK charges back at her, a little up and over counters, PK with a Half and Half Suplex.

Shotzi hits the Question Mark Kick, Senton connects while PK is in the ropes and another two count. Each woman fires after near falls though, PK connects with a Stomp and another Half and Half Suplex. PK is looking for a DDT into the apron, Shotzi fights her off, kick to the head, Senton off the Rope Hang, then Diving Senton for the win!

Okay…weird that they started taping for Fusion like 4 months ago, because many of us know that Shotzi is the current Featherweight Champion. So they definitely kept this in the can too damn long. 

Aleah James vs Scarlett Bordeaux

They shake hands, and it’s weird to see Scarlett playing babyface. An aggressive tie up into a few standing switches, before Aleah gets the best of the early exchange with a low Dropkick and Monkey Flip. Scarlett snaps off a T-Bone Suplex Hold of two, and Aleah retreats to the corner and Scarlett hits her with the Hip Attack into Stink Face. Another snapping Suplex off the rope run, and only a two count. Alex tries to fire back with Forearms, but Scarlett screams through it, Powerbomb, and Scarlett is on the prowl. Scarlett Letter is hit, and our favorite smokeshow wins!

And after she stays in her pin and caresses her opponent and gives her a little kiss. But actually checks on her after the match.

We get a recap of Krule getting destroyed and put in a body bag because he dared to disregard the head of the snake, so Contra took out their former leader. Which lead to Kross’ championship victory, and Krule is still missing.

The animosity between The Skyscrapers (@DijakFYE + @TomPestock) and the Good Brothers (@The_BigLG + @machinegunka) runs deep!

Trevor Lee vs Austin Aries

Trevor has his hair cut and Austin has his career reinvigorated, so there’s an interesting new chapter aspect to this match. Early on, Knuckle Lock gave Lee the early advantage, but Aries wrestled out of it, brought Trevor to the ground and does his spin around insult before a powder to make a point. Once Aries comes back in, Trevor does the same to Aries, and Trevor smirks while Aries looks annoyed in the corner. They finally re-engage, Aries hits the Bell Clap, Headlock Takeover and a Dropkick to the face as Aries goes to the corner for his “Laying on the buckles” taunt. Trevor feeds Aries into the corner, Aries tries to Up and Over, but Trevor doesn’t follow, Manhattan Drop, into a “Low Blow taunt”, then Trevor does the Headscissors escape the same way as Aries, even going as far to use the laying down taunt to irritate Aries.

Austin is getting insulted, outwrestled and out taunted. When Trevor tries to follow Aries to the outside, Aries grabs the foot and spills him into the apron. Aries goes for a Heat Seeking Missile Dive, but Trevor counters with a big strike. Trevor goes up, but Aries takes the feet out from under him and Trevor lands chest first into the buckles. Green Killer from Aries, but only a near fall. Trevor gets pushed into the corner, he tries to push Aries out, but Aries catches him with a Kitchen Sink on his charge out. Aries has all the control now, even using the hair to snap Trevor back down on the mat just for good measure. Diving European Uppercut from Aries, and he starts the Yes Kicks. Trevor catches one, but Aries with the Bell Clap and a few Forearms.

Aries locks him in a weird Butterfly Stretch, into a pinfall before Knife Edge Chops and a Side Slam give him another near fall. Trevor finally starts coming back, rope run, Trevor ducks Aries’ moves and then connects with a huge Lariat. Trevor runs into a boot from Aries, but Trevor with an Overhead Belly to Belly to send Aries outside. He finally hits the Apron Run PK, then rolls Aries in. Trevor goes up, Crossbody, but only a two count. Trevor is besides himself, but it’s giving Aries time to recover. Aries wants an O’Connor Roll but Trevor holds on, Snake Eyes into a Shining Wizard! Aries kicks out at two!

Trevor is trying to hype up the crowd, looks for a Brainbuster, but Aries knee stops it. Then they start trading Brainbuster Counters, but Aries locks in Last Chancery! Too close to the ropes though, and Trevor gets his foot on the ropes. Aries wants the Rolling Forearm, but eats a Kick, then stumbles into a Rolling Forearm. They charge at each other and Trevor hits the standing Spanish Fly! Only a two count though! Trevor goes for the Cave In, but Aries crumbles on purpose to avoid it. Trevor starts working over Aries on the apron, but Aries catches him with a Sipcolli Driver! Back in the ring, IED, then Brainbuster! Aries wins!

Aries calls his shot for the Openweight Championship held by Blue Panther. 

Coffey Brothers w/Wolfgang vs Good Brothers

Skyscrapers are on commentary during this match. 

Joe and Karl start, a bit of the Japanese Strong Style just chop each other before Karl gets the best of things, isolates Joe and tags in LG. LG does his goofball corner punches before the Uppercut and a Lariat that turns Joe inside out. They’re brothering the brothers softly, quick tags and Joe finally starts fighting out of the situation when Karl is back in. An Atomic Drop gives Joe a chance to tag in Mark, a quick tandem, then Joe is back in with a quick Vader Bomb Elbow for two. Another tandem spot for the Coffey brothers. Karl tries to fight back but Mark smothers him back into their corner, and tags in Joe.

Karl is getting rocked, Joe has a Front Facelock, but Karl finally makes a desperation move. Backdrop sends Joe out, ducks the Lariat, Karl tags in LG. A bit of a brawl before Joe tags back in for the Springboard Crossbody. Karl hits the Spinebuster on Mark, MAGIC KILLER ON JOE! Good Brothers win!

The Skyscrapers attack the Good Brothers when they start to celebrate their win. Dijak and Dyer get buffeted, but they all brawl to the back. 

Danny Mcbride is in a video package going over this Don Gato video package, talking about how he made his tequila or something. 

Diego Hill vs Adam Brooks

Duck, dodge and counter opening, lots of flips and nothing lands. Brooks is getting annoyed at Diego playing keep away. Diego with some apron and rope antics, slipping in and out, pick the leg, lands the shot and does his little Fortnite dance. Thankfully Brooks just kicks him in the face, puts him in the Cheeky Nandos, but Diego kicks Brooks back, goes for a Moonsault but Brooks just punches him in the face and dodges the Moonsault. Chucks Diego into the buckles like a bag of trash, and gets a near fall.

Brooks continues with a few Facelock Knee Lifts, and then slaps and mushes Diego in the corner. Brooks drapes Diego on the top rope and a Knee Lift from the middle rope sends Diego careening to the floor. Brooks follows him around the 4 count and kicks Diego in the face. Brooks is keeping a very cruel and deliberate pace, going for a somewhat lazy cover, so Diego kicks out. Diego tries to punch out of it, but a Sole Butt stuns Diego. Brooks goes for a Kitchen Sink but Diego wraps around for a Cradle, and only a two count. Brooks has been winning the return strikes, but Diego is being resilient. Diego takes a weird bump in the corner, and you can see it breaks the rhythm of the match, Brooks hits a Lung Blower and some ground and pound. Reboot Style kicks to seated Diego. But after the second one, Diego hops onto the middle rope and lands a Spin Kick to rock Brooks. Brooks fakes his, Dropkicks low , but Diego is keeping things exciting. Diego tries a Jecht Shot, but Brooks dodges, then there’s some weird Rebound move that maybe it was supposed to be a Springboard Codebreaker but it looked bad.

Diego goes for an Oscutter or something but Brooks counters with the Backstabber, then a Dive into a Charging Knee, Running Pump Kick and a Sitout Powerbomb for two! Brooks climbs up, tries a Swanton but Diego gets the knees up, Oscutter connects from Diego…but Brooks kicks out! Diego is shocked and takes too long to decide his next move, Brooks grabs the leg to stop the climb and Gamengiri rocks Diego. Brooks wants a Superplex but Diego shoves him off, wanted a Panama Sunrise, but counters everywhere. Diego hits the Standing Spanish Fly into a Double Jump Corkscrew Moonsault that he completely misses but the camera angle saves it.

Could’ve been rated higher if moves actually hit correctly. The problem with modern gymnastics style wrestling is when you remove the realism, you put extra emphasis on getting the routine perfect. So small things that wouldn’t usually be considered egregious, become completely ridiculous.

Contra still does the hacker style flickers during the show and the “signal takeover” inserts. It is nice to see Contra is still a thing from “peak” MLW times of 2019-2023.

Carolina Cruz vs Zamaya

Zamaya looks like a hybrid of Bull Nakano and the Road Warriors. It’s a good look. 

Zamaya Spears Carolina instantly. Tears off Carolina’s jacket, Samoan Drop, into a Throat Chop and just screams while choking Carolina. She drapes Carolina over the apron and hammers her with Forearm Shivers. She traps her face against a post and pulls her into the metal before ripping up the mats on the outside. Carolina tries to survive, but Zamaya is savage. Scoop Slam onto the concrete, whips her into the guardrail, and Carolina keeps trying to fight back but Zamaya is no selling and another Scoop Slam.

Zamaya waits in the ring for the 20 count, but Carolina does make it in, Double Sitout Chokebomb she calls the Killa Bomb. Zamaya wins easily.

Alexander Hammerstone vs Bishop Dyer

Baron Corbin Sucks…remember, a classic Chairshot shirt. Different name…same suck.

Hammer and Bishop do the big boy Shoulder Tackles and tie ups that neither budge on. But Hammer hits a Pump Kick that rocks Bishop enough to eat 10 Count Lariats in the corner, Irish Whip, Hammer tries to follow but Bishop gets the feet in the way and then drops Hammer via Lariat. Hammer fires out of the corner and runs over Bishop. They’re trading big shots, but Bishop goes to the middle rope, Hammer catches him with an Overhead Belly to Belly before getting Lariated to the outside. Bishop lands on his feet and pulls out Hammer. So now they start brawling on the outside.

Bishop has the early advantage but Hammer puts the brakes on, plants Bishop into the guardrail, breaks the 20 count, and when he tries to continue Bishop shoves him into the post and Hammer eats the post and crash to the floor. Bishop lifts Hammer and Backdrops him onto the apron. Back in the ring, Bishop goes for the Heavy Irish Whip, putting focus on Hammer’s back. It pays off since Hammer tries to fight back with power, but his back gives out and Bishop hits the Spicolli Driver for a nearfall! Bishop wants Deep Six, but Hammer counters, runs through and then hits a Shotgun Kick! Hammer tries to continue after they both catch their breath, but Bishop drops Hammer, charges and Hammer catches him with a boot, Enzuigiri, and then charges but eats a Deep Six! Hammer rolls to the apron before Bishop can try a pinfall.

Both men start brawling on the apron. Hammer tries a Spicolli, but Bishop slips it, Hammer stuns him with a Forearm and then climbs the buckles. Missile Dropkick from Hammer as both are selling. Dijak walks out with a chair but the Good Brothers cut off Dijak and beat the crap out of him. Bishop is distracted, Hammer grabs Bishop and hits a stacked Powerbomb for the win!

Overall Score: 7.5/10

So my only real criticism is that these matches are so damn old. Given the fact that smaller promotions are usually lifted up by the hardcore crowd, a good number of people watching will already be able to glean to results because if they’ve been keeping track of MLW, then it’s almost like inadvertently spoiling themselves.

However, production wise, it was a really clean show. MLW always had really good lighting and Tom Lawlor and Joe Dombrowski are solid commentators. Most of the wrestling was average or better, and like I said about the Diego vs Adam match, if there weren’t so many questionable spots, it would’ve been rated higher and a fairly good modern wrestling style of match. But sadly, points come off when the gymnastics routine isn’t perfect. Austin Aries taking shots at Blue Panther is a good way to get the Lucha side of MLW invested in Fusion. Zamaya has a great look, the MLW tag division and Women’s division seems really interesting, so that’s definitely more than I can say for some other companies right now.

It’s not lost on me, nor is it probably lost on others that these first two episodes were just 80% former WWE guys. So that made this show feel more like 2010 TNA than 2020 MLW. Maybe we’ll get more variety after a few episodes and they’re just frontloading the more “known” names to try and gather a few WWE fans that might not have watched otherwise. It’s definitely a tightrope walk between pushing more homegrown or “indie” talent and keeping the people with some outside fame in the spotlight. Should be interesting to see how MLW does. But for a first Fusion in 3 years, it was a fun and easy watch with things to be intrigued about.
