Booker T Says NXT Champion Needs to Prove Himself — Name Change Could Help
Hall of Famer Booker T acknowledged the recent run of NXT champion Tony D’Angelo but cautioned that success alone isn’t enough; he still needs to “show him something” to prove he’s ready for bigger stages. Booker suggested that a stronger body of work and perhaps a retooled presentation could better position D’Angelo for future opportunities.
Part of that retooling, Booker argued, might even include a name change to sharpen the character and marketability as he moves up the card. With WWE constantly evaluating talent for main roster readiness, Booker’s comments underline the importance of both in-ring results and a compelling identity.
