Brian Myers Says He Thought He Was Getting Fired When Called To Train The Rock
At WWE Survivor Series 2011, The Rock returned to in-ring action for the first time since 2004, teaming with John Cena to take on The Miz and R-Truth. In the lead-up to the high-profile tag match, Rock worked backstage with Brian Myers (then Curt Hawkins) and Joe Hennig to rehearse sequences, timing, and ring psychology for the big return.
Myers later revealed he initially feared the call to train The Rock meant he was being released, only to find himself helping prepare a marquee WWE moment. The session underscored how veteran talent and rising stars collaborate behind the scenes to execute major pay-per-view matches.
