Brock Lesnar Expected to Continue WWE Run; Retirement Angle Treated as Storyline
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reports Brock Lesnar is expected to remain with WWE following his rematch with Oba Femi at Clash in Italy in Turin, though he is not currently scheduled for Saturday Night’s Main Event at Madison Square Garden on July 18. The update suggests Lesnar will still be part of WWE plans in the near term despite the recent high-profile matches.
In the April 27, 2026 Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer wrote that company insiders were told to treat Lesnar’s retirement beat after his WrestleMania 42 loss as an angle rather than a true exit, and that many inside WWE expect any official retirement to be saved for this year’s SummerSlam in Minneapolis. Meltzer noted that Lesnar’s material is handled very secretively and that the size of the angle made a genuine retirement seem unlikely to insiders.
