Buddy Matthews Announced for WSW MegaMania Tour Despite Not Being Medically Cleared
Buddy Matthews has been announced for World Series Wrestling’s MegaMania tour in Australia and New Zealand this October–November despite not yet being medically cleared to compete. The five-show run hits Auckland (Oct. 29), Brisbane (Oct. 30), Adelaide (Oct. 31), Melbourne (Nov. 1) and Sydney (Nov. 2).
Matthews has been sidelined for roughly 15 months after suffering an ankle injury during his entrance at AEW Grand Slam Australia in February 2025 and undergoing surgery; he recently made a surprise WSW appearance, laid out Donovan Dijak and said he expects to be cleared by October and is “coming for all of the gold,” with WSW’s top title currently held by Killer Kross. AEW colleagues, including Swerve Strickland, have publicly backed his eventual return and teased future matchups once he’s healthy.
