Cody Rhodes Says WWE Clash Is Becoming a ‘Big Four’ PLE
Cody Rhodes told ESPN Unsportsmanlike that WWE’s international Clash events are “sneaking up” to join WrestleMania, Royal Rumble and SummerSlam as one of the company’s “Big Four” pay-per-like events, with Money in the Bank in contention and Survivor Series no longer holding that status. Rhodes praised the Clash rotation through Europe — citing Paris, Glasgow and Cardiff — and credited WWE president Nick Khan for targeting international markets, saying cities now compete to be the loudest crowd.
Rhodes enters WWE Clash in Italy in Turin as the Undisputed WWE Champion and will defend the title against Gunther in a match scheduled for the show’s first hour at 2 p.m. ET, which will be simulcast on ESPN; Rhea Ripley vs. Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship is also set for hour one. In the interview Rhodes lauded Ripley as one of the biggest stars in wrestling today as Clash cements itself as a major international tentpole.
