Contract signing set as “Original” El Grande Americano and El Grande Americano gear up for mask vs. mask on May 30
AAA has confirmed the contract signing for the high-stakes mask vs. mask bout between the “Original” El Grande Americano and the current El Grande Americano will take place this Saturday on its weekly program, with the match slated for May 30 at AAA Noche de Los Grandes. The challenge was issued live on AAA on Fox in Mexico City and the signing will be streamed via LuchaLibreAAA (10e/7p on FOX in Latin America, Facebook and YouTube elsewhere).
The feud stems from Chad Gable’s return at this year’s Royal Rumble as the “Original” El Grande Americano after suffering a shoulder injury in June 2025 that had Ludwig Kaiser assume the gimmick. Kaiser, now aligned with Bravo and Rayo Americano (Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate), has repeatedly interfered in Gable’s matches, and the May 30 stipulation appears designed to finally settle the rivalry once and for all.
