El Grande Americano serenade in Mexico City back on as Kaiser cleared to travel

Lucha Libre AAA’s “Serenade for El Grande Americano,” which had been briefly canceled, is back on for tonight, May 22, at the Kings League Dome in Mexico City. The free, fan-limited (300) event is a show of support for Ludwig Kaiser ahead of his mask vs. mask showdown with Original El Grande Americano (Chad Gable) at AAA Noche de Los Grandes in Monterrey on May 30, and reports indicate Kaiser is expected to be permitted to travel internationally.

Kaiser was arrested this week on a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from an April incident in Orlando; he returned to the U.S. to surrender and is out on $1,000 bond. His attorney filed a motion to allow out-of-state and international travel, which Florida is not opposing, keeping the build — including a live AAA TV episode this Saturday and a heated, well-received feud with Gable (who originated the Americano character) — on track.
