Eric Bischoff on Aleister Black: Paul Heyman’s Early Backing and His WWE Exit
On his 83 Weeks podcast, former WWE SmackDown Executive Director Eric Bischoff recalled how Paul Heyman was “huge” on Aleister Black when he first arrived on the main roster, even ready to make a serious commitment to him. Bischoff said Heyman’s enthusiasm made him pay attention, so he spoke with Black a few times to get a feel for his mindset and character as the company considered how to position him.
Bischoff’s comments gain weight because he served as SmackDown Executive Director in 2019 while Heyman filled the RAW Executive Director role — the same era as Black’s call-up. Black’s release was later announced as part of a post-WrestleMania 42 round of cuts in April 2026 that also included Kairi Sane, Zoey Stark and Santos Escobar. The Rock Pulled Over by LAPD After Attending Emily Blunt’s Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was stopped by Los Angeles police after attending a Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony for Emily Blunt, TMZ reported. Authorities pulled Johnson over for window tint — which can be regulated by level and placement in California — but it was not clear whether he received a citation or a warning.
Johnson, who co-starred with Blunt in Jungle Cruise and was also linked to The Smashing Machine, recently skipped WrestleMania 42 to fly home after CinemaCon for his daughter’s eighth birthday. His team has likewise announced plans to adapt Fighting With My Family into a musical, keeping him busy across film and entertainment projects.

Former WWE star Lacey Evans (Macey Estrella) announced via Instagram that she plans to return to professional wrestling, declaring “I will be returning to wrestling.
