Eric Bischoff says nWo 2020 reboot rumors were news to original members
Former WWE writer Chris Dunn claimed on the Public Enemies Podcast that WWE had pitched an nWo reboot for the ThunderDome era in 2020, reportedly featuring Sheamus, Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura and Lars Sullivan — a plan Dunn says was scuttled amid COVID-era complications and a failed ringside test for a supposed guest introducer. The pitch was described as one of many ideas tossed around during the challenging ThunderDome production period.
On his 83 Weeks podcast, former WCW president Eric Bischoff pushed back on the story, saying Sean Waltman reached out asking if Bischoff had heard anything and that neither Waltman nor Kevin Nash were aware of the project. Bischoff called the report unlikely and suggested it could be “silly internet” speculation rather than a vetted WWE plan.
