FTR Approaching AEW Option Year as WWE Shows Preliminary Interest

Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler are nearing the option year on the four-year AEW deals they signed in 2023 and, according to reports, believe their consistency should place them among AEW’s top-tier acts financially. Mutual contacts have reportedly communicated at least preliminary interest from WWE, though there is no indication a departure is imminent; FTR’s third AEW Tag Team Championship reign ended at Double or Nothing when Adam Copeland and Christian Cage defeated Harwood and Wheeler.

The team — who left WWE in 2020 after performing as The Revival — previously said they expected to stop full-time wrestling when this AEW contract concludes. WWE is said to be interested in rebuilding its tag division, largely through internal moves after recent releases like New Day and the Motor City Machine Guns, but the report did not indicate whether FTR want to return to WWE, a company they felt didn’t prioritize tag teams during their earlier run under Vince McMahon.
