Gunther says he still feels like an outcast, will let his in-ring work speak ahead of Clash in Italy

Speaking with Rompipallone, Gunther reflected on his unconventional WWE path, saying he spent much of his career off the radar and arrived in WWE having already “figured” himself out. Though viewed as a veteran and influence on younger talent, he admitted he sometimes feels “a little bit of an outcast” within the company while enjoying the unique position.

Gunther also explained why he doesn’t use catchphrases, saying he prefers to leave names and merchandising hooks to performers like Cody Rhodes and let his in-ring performance do the talking. The comments come as Gunther prepares to challenge Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Clash in Italy on May 31, a match set up after he blinded the champion in an earlier attack this month.
