Jim Ross Says He Wanted More AEW Double or Nothing Time, Contract Nears End

Jim Ross returned to AEW commentary at Double or Nothing, calling the Jon Moxley vs. Kyle O’Reilly AEW Continental Championship match in New York, but told listeners on his Grilling Jr podcast he would have preferred working more than a single bout, saying he “sure miss[s] doing that” and might have pushed Tony Khan harder if he’d known he’d only be on one match. JR stressed he wasn’t complaining outright but would have liked to be more involved on the New York call.

Ross also revealed his AEW contract is winding down, noting conversations with his agent Barry Bloom and that his deal likely expires around August; he said he’s moved past worrying and will “let it play out,” while acknowledging he doesn’t know if Tony Khan plans to keep him after the current term.
