Jim Ross Suffers Fall, Misses Flight Ahead of AEW Double or Nothing
Jim Ross revealed on his Grilling JR podcast that he suffered a fall the day before AEW Double or Nothing, which forced him to miss his originally scheduled flight after he landed away from his phone and couldn’t call for help. The 74-year-old announcer said the travel troubles and a subsequent back issue made for a difficult weekend, though he still managed to provide commentary on the pay-per-view and called the Jon Moxley vs. Kyle O’Reilly match.
Ross returned home on Monday feeling sore with weakness in his legs and is seeking medical help, including input from a neurologist, but remains committed to working if AEW wants him. His contract — following a one-year extension signed in summer 2025 — is up this August, and Ross says he’s leaving renewal in Tony Khan’s hands while staying content with his current PPV commentary role.
