Jim Ross Undergoing Tests for Dementia/Alzheimer’s, Still Set to Call AEW Double or Nothing
Veteran announcer Jim Ross, 74, revealed on his Grilling JR podcast that he recently had a “very positive” appointment with a neurologist and is undergoing tests amid concerns about dementia or Alzheimer’s. Ross said he feels great physically, is willing to follow medical advice, and acknowledged uncertainty about treatment options given there’s no cure, but stressed he’s approaching the process with a positive mindset.
Ross will provide commentary at AEW Double or Nothing in New York City this Sunday and reacted to Mick Foley’s debut, saying he doesn’t know whether Foley has signed a full-time contract. He also recently appeared with Jerry “The King” Lawler at Motor City Comic Con — the pair’s largest convention turnout — and noted he’s worked through significant health issues in recent years, including colon cancer in 2025.
