Kevin Nash Criticizes WWE Over Motor City Machine Guns Release
WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash said he was surprised and disappointed by the decision to release Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, telling listeners he “would not have gotten rid” of the Motor City Machine Guns. Nash—who worked with the team in TNA, mentored Shelley during their Paparazzi Productions run, and praised their on-screen chemistry—noted the duo enjoyed a near two-year WWE run capped by a SmackDown Tag Team Championship and is widely expected to sign with AEW once eligible.
While Nash singled out the Guns for special treatment, he wasn’t shocked by the broader layoffs after seeing how much TKO executives are paid, joking about Nick Khan’s reported $24.3 million compensation for 2025. Nash, who appeared at WrestleMania 42 to help induct Dennis Rodman into the Hall of Fame, added that the weekend felt “kind of soulless” given how the company handled business decisions.
