Kingdom returns to ROH, targets Guevara & The Beast Mortos

Visa issues kept the ROH World Tag Team Championships from being defended at Supercard of Honor, but the tag division still saw major movement Friday when former champions The Kingdom — Matt Taven and Mike Bennett — made a surprise return. The duo interrupted a promo from Bustah and the Brain and, along with that team, declared their pursuit of current champions Sammy Guevara and The Beast Mortos; Taven and Bennett had last appeared for ROH in October, teaming with Matt Menard in a loss to SkyFlight.

Taven and Bennett arrive with an extensive résumé: three-time ROH World Tag Team Champions (notable wins over Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian in 2015, Dragon Lee & Kenny King in 2021, and MJF in a 2023 handicap match), plus tag gold in NJPW and TNA/Impact. Individually, Taven is a former ROH World, World TV and Six-Man Tag Team Champion, while Bennett won the 2014 Honor Rumble; both are also past Top Prospect tournament winners (Bennett in 2011, Taven in 2013).
