Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods Issue First Statements After WWE Release
Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods each posted their first public comments Monday after being granted releases from WWE following reports they declined proposed contract restructures from TKO; both are reportedly subject to 90-day non-compete clauses. Kingston urged fans not to compromise on their worth and expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support, while Woods thanked everyone who was part of his 16-year WWE journey, singling out the behind-the-scenes crew and saying he will carry the memories forward as Austin Creed.
Former colleagues immediately responded on social media — Big E left heartfelt messages for both men — as fans and peers reflected on New Day’s legacy as one of WWE’s most decorated and popular teams, including a tag title run in April–June 2025 and Kingston’s WWE Championship and WrestleMania 35 moment. Their next destinations remain unconfirmed, though several top AEW names quickly signaled interest in adding the New Day members to their roster.
