Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods Reportedly Part Ways with WWE
Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have reportedly left WWE after being moved to the Alumni section of the company website and removed from the Raw, SmackDown and NXT roster pages. Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer reports both stars chose to depart after WWE/TKO sought to restructure their contracts to TKO-style deals; they declined the offers, were granted releases and are subject to 90-day non-compete clauses.
The duo, best known as part of New Day alongside Big E, debuted as a team on the July 21, 2014 episode of Raw and went on to become 13-time WWE Tag Team Champions, with Kingston and Big E each capturing WWE Championship gold during their run. Kingston had been with WWE since signing a developmental deal in 2006, while Woods joined the company in 2010, marking lengthy tenures for both as they exit the promotion.
