Kris Statlander vs. Hikaru Shida Set For Lights Out Philly Street Fight
AEW has announced a Lights Out Philly Street Fight between former partners Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida for the three-hour Dynamite/Collision live special at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia on Wednesday, May 27. The matchup was proposed by Statlander after Shida struck her with a kendo stick at Double or Nothing; Shida accepted, and the bout grows out of their uneasy split following the four-way AEW Women’s World Championship match that also involved Jamie Hayter and Thekla.
The unsanctioned “Lights Out” match is likely to close the Dynamite portion of the broadcast and could serve as a main event for the night. AEW also confirmed that new AEW World Champion MJF will celebrate his title win in Philadelphia on Wednesday, three days after regaining the belt from Darby Allin at Double or Nothing; the special airs 8/7c on TBS and HBO Max.
