Luchasaurus Aiming to Return to AEW Before the End of 2026 After Double Shoulder Surgeries

Luchasaurus revealed on Talk is Jericho that he tore both shoulders during a December 2025 battle royal on AEW Dynamite in the U.K., a follow-up to a prior partial rotator cuff tear he had been working through. He has already had one surgery and, despite his surgeon advising a six-month gap, opted to accelerate the timeline and schedule the second operation just three months later to try to expedite his comeback.

After the second procedure Luchasaurus expects up to six months of recovery, a timeline that could allow him to be back in the ring before the end of 2026 if rehab goes well. Having battled life-threatening pneumonia in 2024, he says he’s focused on enjoying his career, helping other AEW talent and is looking forward to teaming with Jack Perry once he returns.
