Mick Foley Won’t Be at This Week’s AEW Dynamite Due to Pre-Existing Commitment
Mick Foley is officially part of AEW but is not scheduled to appear on this Wednesday’s Dynamite/Collision in Philadelphia due to a pre-existing responsibility that was locked in before he signed, PWInsider reports. Foley made his AEW debut co-hosting the Double or Nothing pre-show and was involved in an angle with MJF, and sources say he “will be around regularly” on AEW programming despite missing the Philly show.
Tony Khan has suggested Foley is likely to handle hosting duties for July’s Redemption in Montreal, though Foley currently has a convention in Raleigh listed for July 26 and his attendance is not yet certain. AEW has left the door open for a possible in-ring return—Khan would welcome Foley wrestling again—but Foley previously canceled plans for a final match after suffering a concussion, so the extent of his physical involvement remains unclear.
