Best of the Super Juniors 33 B Block: HYO VS Yoshinobu Kanemaru!

The Panther and Heel Master missed the opening night, so this is their make-good to catch up with the rest of the block. Hyo was cheated by Sho, can he get revenge on the other member of The House of Torture? Or will Kanemaru simply add insult to injury?

The moment Hyo poses on the apron, Kanemaru DROPKICKS Hyo off it! The fans boo but Kanemaru stomps away on Hyo on the outside. The ref reprimands but Kanemaru puts Hyo in the ring. The bell rings, Kanemaru stomps Hyo more, but Hyo is getting mad! Kanemaru kicks Hyo, runs, but into an ELBOW! Hyo runs, but then dodges to get the zoomies! Then Hyo DROPKICKS Kanemaru’s legs out! Hyo kips up, the fans fire up, and Hyo sees Kanemaru on the outside. Hyo builds speed, but pulls up as Kanemaru runs away. The ring count starts, Kanemaru goes around the outside as we pass 10 of 20. Kanemaru rolls in at 16, just to roll right back out.

The fans boo as Kanemaru gets a fresh count to take his time with. Kanemaru dares Hyo to come after him, so Hyo gives chase! But Kanemaru quickly turns things around with a DROPKICK to the legs! Hyo hobbles away but Kanemaru drags him back to ringside! Kanemaru SMASHES Hyo’s knee on the ground! Hyo clutches the leg while Kanemaru paces. Kanemaru drags Hyo up, puts him in the ring, then drags him up to whip. Kanemaru DROPKICKS the leg out, then hurries to step through for a FIGURE FOUR! Hyo endures, the fans rally, but Kanemaru puts on the pressure! Hyo CLUBS at Kanemaru’s leg but Kanemaru again puts on the pressure!

The fans rally harder as Hyo drags Kanemaru along, and he fights his way to the ROPEBREAK! The fans cheer but Kanemaru won’t let go. The ref pries at the hold, Kanemaru lets go, and the fans rally for Hyo. Kanemaru stomps Hyo, drags him back, and turns him over for the HALF CRAB! Hyo endures, fights around, reaches out, but Kanemaru SMASHES the knee on the mat! Hyo crawls, but Kanemaru stands on the bad leg. Hyo has the ropes, the ref counts, so Kanemaru steps off. Kanemaru then puts the bad leg on the ropes for a HIP DROP! Hyo writhes but Kanemaru drags him around, to then YANK the leg! Cover, TWO!

The fans cheer as Hyo toughs it out, but Kanemaru kicks and stomps him more. Hyo hobbles up and CHOPS! And CHOPS again! Kanemaru kicks the bad leg, then whips Hyo to a corner. Kanemaru runs up, but Hyo dodges! Hyo runs back in, but Kanemaru pops him to the apron. The bad leg jams, and Kanemaru KICKS it! Hyo crawls on the apron, Kanemaru runs up, but Hyo RAMS him down low! Hyo then slingshots for the CUTTER! The fans fire up while Hyo shakes out the bad leg. Hyo rises, drags Kanemaru up, but Kanemaru fights the back suplex with elbows. Kanemaru runs corner to corner but Hyo goes up and over! Hyo manages to handspring, but then the leg bothers him again. Kanemaru runs up and DROPKICKS the leg out! Hyo fires up now, and the fans rally. Wait! SHO rushes out here, and he still has the caged Myon Myon! The fans boo as he taunts Hyo with it, but now DICK TOGO rushes out here to CLOBBER Hyo into the ref, and that sends the ref into the cage! The fans boo even more as The House bullies Hyo! Sho steps into the ring and they set Hyo up. Dick is up top, DICK CHOP! The fans boo but Sho brings Hyo up again. Kanemaru takes a swig of his whiskey, but Hyo ducks! Kanemaru stops himself in time, Sho makes Hyo stand back up, but Hyo BLOOD MISTS Kanemaru!! Then STUNNER and the WHISKEY MIST hits Sho!!

The fans are thunderous as Hyo then DECKS Dick! Hyo goes up, up, and aims, for the HUNTING!! Cover, Hyo wins!!

Best of the Super Juniors 33 A Block: Master Wato VS Daiki Nagai!

The Way to the Grandmaster is a step behind the front of the block, but the Unbound Young Lion is far, far behind. But can Daiki play spoiler here tonight? Or will Wato continue to rise towards the top?

Once again, Daiki SHOTGUNS right out the gate! The bell rings and Daiki HAMMERS away in the corner! The ref counts, Daiki stomps, then he runs corner to corner to HYDRAULIC DROPKICK! Daiki fires up, the fans fire up, and Daiki turns Wato. Wato kicks, kicks, kicks, and Daiki staggers away. Daiki stomps Wato, whips, but Wato reverses to hurdle. Wato drops down, DROPKICKS, and the fans cheer! Wato goes over to Daiki, sits him up and digs a knee into his back. Daiki endures, fights around, but Wato whips him to ropes. Wato arm-drags Daiki, then clamps onto the armlock. Daiki endures, even as Wato uses his leg to hook Daiki in a nelson.

Daiki kicks his way over, but Wato bends the arm! Daiki still kicks his way to the ROPEBREAK! The fans cheer, but Wato cranks the arm before he lets go. Daiki clutches the wrist but Wato stomps and kicks him around. Wato drags Daiki up, but Daiki CHOPS! Wato CHOPS in return! Daiki goes to a corner, but Wato brings him around again to CHOP! And CHOP! Wato flounders away and Daiki goes to a corner. The fans rally as Daiki runs in and RAMS Wato! Daiki keeps moving, and he RANAS Wato out of the ring! Daiki then builds speed to DIVE! Direct hit at the ramp and the fans fire up again! Daiki stomps Wato, drags him up, and he puts Wato in the ring. The fans fire up with Daiki as he climbs a corner, and he MISSILE DROPKICKS Wato back down! Cover, TWO! Wato is tougher than that but Daiki stays fired up. Daiki grabs the legs, but Wato twists to victory roll, TWO! Daiki stands, ROCKS Wato, then GERMAN- NO, Wato fights the suplex and fires elbows!

Wato goes to run but Daiki ripcords to SPINEBUSTER! Cover, TWO! The fans rally up again as Daiki goes back to a corner. Daiki climbs up again, and he leaps, but into BOOTS! Well, the Funky Weapon has a new and not so funky hairstyle after losing to Kosei Fujita last round, but Mr. Extreme is coming off a big win over Titan. They’re both 3-3, can Taguchi stay serious long enough to win? Or will the X Express stay on track towards the semifinals?

Wait, Robbie wears a toupee to poke fun at Taguchi’s hairstyle! Bowl cut, center part, is Robbie being Taguchi or a Beatle? Taguchi asks if he really looks like that. Oh, the toupee stays on even after Robbie takes his shirt off. The bell rings and the fans rally for Robbie. Robbie and Taguchi circle, they both smooth their hair, and they tie up. Taguchi waistlocks, Robbie wrenches, but Taguchi rolls to wrench back. Robbie has to keep his hair out of his eyes before he rolls, handsprings, and wrenches to break free. The fans cheer Robbie while he fixes his hair again. The fans rally as the two circle again, and they tie up.

Robbie headlocks but Taguchi powers up and out. Taguchi drops down, sidesteps, and repeat! The fans cheer the traditional Taguchi cycle as he bypasses again and again, and Robbie starts tiring out! Taguchi whips, Robbie handsprings, then Robbie TIGER WALL KICKS and ENZIGIRIS! The fans cheer while Taguchi stumbles away. The fans rally up for Robbie and he runs in, only for Taguchi to put him on the apron. Robbie ROCKS Taguchi, throws him down, and SILVER BULLET SENTONS! Cover, TWO! The fans rally for Robbie and he brings Taguchi up. Robbie CLUBS Taguchi, brings him up, and he messes with Taguchi’s hair! Then he HAMMERS Taguchi with an elbow! Robbie stands Taguchi up, fireman’s carries, but Taguchi flails. Taguchi is free, he shoves Robbie, but Robbie stops at the ropes.

Taguchi runs up, Robbie cartwheels to dodge, and Taguchi ends up on the apron! Robbie NO HAND HANDSPRING Taguchi down! Robbie aims but Taguchi hurries away! Robbie just changes sides, PLANCHAS, but into BOOTS! Taguchi counters perfectly and he puts Robbie in the ring! KETSUYE outta nowhere!! Cover, TWO!! But into OH MY GAH ANKLE!! El Inmortal suffered his first loss this tournament just last round, but one loss does not lose him a spot in the semifinals. However, can The Prodigy find a way to make it two losses? Or will Titan’s faith and good works see him through?

The bell rings and the fans rally for Titan, but there do seem to be some “NICKU! NICKU!” out there. The two circle, then Titan runs up! Nick dodges the dropkick, whips, but Titan reverses. Nick denies the tornado DDT to wrench and whip. Titan goes up and over and handsprings away! Titan runs back in, Nick puts him on the apron, but Titan blocks a shot to GAMANGIRI! Titan then springboards to CROSSBODY! Then he DROPKICKS! Nick bails out but Titan builds speed to DIVE! Down goes Nick and the fans fire up! Titan rises and roars, and the fans fire up! Titan KICKS Nick in the back, then brings him around to put in the ring.

Titan hurries to bring Nick up, fireman’s carries, and DEATH VALLEY NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Titan hurries to hook up the legs, and rolls for the TRAILER HITCH! Nick hurries and has the ROPEBREAK! The fans cheer, and Titan lets go. Titan stomps Nick’s leg, stalks Nick to a corner, then stands him up. Titan SOBATS in the corner, then snapmares Nick to run and basement DROPKICK! Cover, TWO! The fans applaud while Nick checks his already blackened eyes. Titan scuffs Nick, kicks him around, but Nick CHOPS! Titan CHOPS back! Titan eggs Nick on, Nick CHOPS, but Titan fires forearms, then a SOBAT!

Nick crawls, but Titan lets go so he can shift around! Deathlock, and then LLAVE INMORTAL!! Nick reaches out but Titan grabs the arms! Nick still fights, slips an arm free, and has the ROPEBREAK! The fans cheer, but then the leglock is tricky to undo. Titan manages to free himself and Nick, and both men clutch a knee as the fans rally up. Titan waits on Nick, then KICKS the leg! Titan brings Nick up, fireman’s carries, but Nick slips free! SNAP DRAGON! Titan tumbles away but Nick is still down. The fans rally again, and Titan goes to a corner. Nick hobbles, runs up, but Titan BOOTS, SOBATS, KICKS, and fires fast hands! But Nick ducks the heel kick to JUMP KNEE!

Nick reels Titan in, fisherman- CRADLE! And then Titan rolls through, but Nick slips free! SUPERKICK! Nick goes up, up, and WAYNE’S- NO, Titan stops Wayne’s World to shove and TORNADO DDT! Then GOURD BUSTER! Then SUPERKICK! But Titan isn’t done, he skins the cat again! LA LANZA!! Cover, TWO?!? Nick survives and shocks everyone! Titan is a bit frustrated but he pounds the mat to rally the fans. Titan roars, has the legs, but Nick cradle counters! TWO, but Nick ROUNDHOUSES! Titan falls and the fans rally up again! Nick rises, calls his shot, and goes up, but Titan gets clear this time! Then FRAME-OUT LARIAT!!

Titan hurries right back up top, but Nick SHORYUKENS! Titan wobbles up top, Nick runs up, up, and FLYING CUTTER!! Cover, TWO?!? Titan survives and the fans are thunderous! Nick vows to end it, and he BUZZSAWS! Then WAYNE’S WORLD!!! Cover, NICK WINS!!

The Japanese Young Punk is feeling good after he gave Ryusuke Taguchi a mighty makeover and got back up in the block. However, The Valiant One is fighting hard to stay afloat! Will Valiente survive for a little bit longer? Or will Fujita burst the bubble and move that much closer to the semifinals?

The bell rings and the fan rally for “FU-JI-TA! FU-JI-TA!” The two circle, feel things out, then back away. They circle again, knuckle lock, then go to the collar ‘n’ elbow. Valiente puts Fujita on the ropes, Fujita turns it around, but Valiente turns it back. Red Shoes counts the break, Valiente backs off, then he pats Fujita on the shoulders. Fujita SMACKS Valiente in return! Fujita headlocks, Valiente powers up and out, and they RAM shoulders! Valiente rebounds to RAM Fujita, but Fujita rebounds to RUN Valiente over! Things keep moving, Valiente drops but Fujita whips, only for Valiente to RUN Fujita over!

The fans cheer, and things speed up again. Valiente handsprings, Fujita dodges, but then Valiente sidesteps to arm-drag! And arm-drag! But then Fujita avoids the third! The fans applaud as Fujita says he’s too smart. But then Fujita drags Valiente up, only for Valiente to arm-drag after all! Fujita wrangles Valiente on the return and traps the arm! Fujita bends the other arm back, then shifts around to trap that arm on his way to the HALF CRAB! Valiente endures, kicks free, and has the ROPEBREAK! The fans rally while Fujita backs off. Fujita stands Valiente up, and he has the leg for a SHIN BREAKER! Fujita KICKS the leg out, then STANDING MOONSAULTS! Cover, TWO!

The fans cheer as Valiente toughs it out, but Fujita has the leg again. Fujita steps over for the HALF CRAB! Valiente endures all over again, but Fujita keeps him from the ropes! Valiente pounds the mat in frustration, then crawls to a ROPEBREAK! Fujita protests, that slapping should’ve counted! Fujita SMACKS Valiente off the mat, then puts the leg on ropes to KICK it! Then Fujita CHOPS! The fans cheer, and Fujita snapmares so he can PENALTY- NO, Valiente dodges to POP-UP KNEE! Valiente then whips, but Fujita reverses. Valiente ducks a chop, then runs to RANA! Fujita tumbles out, Valiente builds speed, and Valiente ESCALARAS!

The fans fire up as Valiente takes Fujita down, but that was a risky move! The fans duel as both men slowly rise up on the outside. Valiente rallies the fans as the ring count climbs, and Valiente brings Fujita into the ring. Cover, TWO! Fujita survives but Valiente stays calm. The fans rally up, Valiente brings Fujita around to fireman’s carry, but Fujita slips free. Fujita ducks an elbow but Valiente hits the SOBAT! And the FRONT KICK! And the victory roll to SPLASH 182! Cover, TWO! But then DRAGON’S LAIR into an Over the Shoulder Crab!! Fujita endures, fights around, and reaches out! The fans rally harder and harder, and Valiente puts on the pressure!

The fans rally as Valiente calls his shot! Valiente tucks the arms, VALIENTE- CUTTER?!? Fujita turns things around on Valiente and he deadlifts Valiente to the torture rack! Then THRILLRIDE!! Cover, Fujita wins!!

A valiant effort, but it just wasn’t enough to bring down the defending BOSJ Champion! The bubble has burst now that Valiente has five losses, but will he still finish strong?

As for Fujita, he grabs the mic, and he says, “I wasn’t gonna sit around at 3-3. I won the Niigata main event tonight!” The fans cheer that! Fujita says what he wants to say to everyone here and behind the camera is… Whether someone brings bamboo skewers, or it’s some Young Lion, Fujita DGAF! “Let’s enjoy wrestling, pure and simple!” The fans cheer that! One fan even starts a chant of “NEW JAPAN! NEW JAPAN!” Fujita thanks that fan and has them calm down. Fujita says maybe the wrestler you like loses, maybe he gets screwed over. But they won’t be broken, and we will definitely repay the support. Don’t sweat the small stuff and enjoy wrestling!

My Thoughts:

Another great night for BOSJ, and again the staggered schedule makes it hard to say this was really round 7 for A Block. Hyo VS Kanemaru was a lot of fun for the make-good match, and it works that Hyo won out to have both the moral and the true victory, getting both the points and Myon Myon. I did not expect Titan to lose again, but that goes well for Nick Wayne so that he’s on the upside of the seven round split. Daiki continues to flounder, but that fits a Young Lion run there. Valiente is now out of the running, but that’s because Fujita is staying strong as he looks to return to the semifinals. There are still some “traffic jams,” but mostly in who is third/fourth/etc. It’s gonna be real close as we get into the last rounds, can’t wait to see it.
