MJF to defend AEW World Title against Rush on next week’s Dynamite
AEW World Champion MJF will put the title on the line for the first time in his third reign on next Wednesday’s Dynamite in Richmond, Virginia, against Rush, who called his shot after winning a four-way for his sixth straight victory. The bout will be the second singles meeting between the two; their only prior singles encounter was in June 2024, a win for MJF in his first match back from injury, and came after MJF turned down an interruption from Mark Briscoe.
The Richmond card also includes an Owen Hart Foundation women’s quarterfinal as Alex Windsor faces a wild-card entrant filling the spot vacated by the injured Willow Nightingale, plus a men’s semifinal pitting Will Ospreay against Mark Davis. TNT Champion Kevin Knight, fresh off a heel turn, will defend against former partner Mike Bailey in a fourth singles meeting between the two (Bailey leads the series 3-0), rounding out a stacked Dynamite lineup.
