New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani Invited to AEW Double or Nothing 2026
AEW commentator Excalibur publicly invited New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani to attend Double or Nothing 2026 at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, asking on Bluesky if the mayor was free for the show scheduled for Sunday, May 24 at 8 p.m. ET. Mamdani previously attended AEW Grand Slam 2021 at Arthur Ashe Stadium, so another high-profile New York appearance at an AEW event would follow that precedent.
Double or Nothing’s confirmed card includes Darby Allin defending the AEW World Championship against MJF in a title vs. hair match, Kazuchika Okada vs. Konosuke Takeshita for the AEW International Championship, FTR vs. Cage & Cope in an I Quit Street Fight for the tag titles, a 14-man Stadium Stampede and several Owen Hart Cup matches, among other marquee bouts. With the show taking place in Queens, a mayoral appearance could add to the event’s local impact.
