NJPW Ownership Changes Hands as Bushiroad Transfers Shares to TV Asahi and CyberAgent

New Japan Pro-Wrestling announced a major ownership change as Bushiroad has transferred all of its NJPW shares to TV Asahi and CyberAgent, making NJPW a consolidated subsidiary of TV Asahi with support from CyberAgent. TV Asahi — already a 22.7% owner — received 3,550,200 shares while CyberAgent received 6,950,200 shares, leaving both companies with equal 46.3% holdings; the transfer is valued at roughly 3.6 billion yen (about $22.6 million).

The move separates NJPW from Stardom, which remains under Bushiroad following a March transfer, though both promotions say they will continue to collaborate within Japan’s wrestling community. NJPW says it has no plans to change event schedules, while TV Asahi retains control of the video library and CyberAgent’s ownership brings potential digital and streaming synergies given its holdings in NOAH, DDT and TJP and its Abema platform; Tanahashi, NJPW’s president, said the company’s mission “to create the best wrestling and bring joy to everyone remains unchanged.”
