Octagon Jr. Likely Out Several Months After Top-Rope Injury at AAA Taping
Octagon Jr. was stretchered out of AAA’s Noche de Los Grandes Night Two taping on June 6 after a botched top-rope DDT by Joaquin Wilde in a fatal five-way that also involved Cruz Del Toro, Lince Dorado and Mini Vikingo. The 35-year-old dropped flat on his neck, the referee signaled the “X” and Octagon Jr. was removed; an MRI was reportedly good but Bryan Alvarez says he will likely be sidelined for several months.
The incident came amid a busy Noche de Los Grandes weekend, which saw three title changes and the unmasking of the original El Grande Americano as Chad Gable on Night One. AAA’s upcoming card will feature, among other matches, La Catalina teaming with Bayley and Lola Vice to face Las Toxicas next week.
