Paul Wight Reportedly Re-Signs With AEW
Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Paul Wight has reportedly re-signed a new contract with AEW, according to Fightful Select. The 54-year-old, who joined All Elite Wrestling in 2021 and has been a prominent backstage presence, was believed to have had a contract set to expire earlier this year but is now said to be firmly under a new deal, though the length of the contract has not been disclosed.
Wight has not wrestled since 2024 as he undergoes a noted weight-loss transformation, but he has talked publicly about a potential in-ring return and dream opponents in AEW, naming Kenny Omega and expressing interest in a heel run involving Darby Allin. His renewed commitment signals he will remain part of the promotion’s plans moving forward.
