Rhea Ripley Retains WWE Women’s Title Over Jade Cargill at Clash in Italy
Rhea Ripley successfully retained the WWE Women’s Championship against former titleholder Jade Cargill at WWE Clash in Italy on Sunday. The match ended when Ripley hit the Riptide for the pin after Charlotte Flair intervened to take out B-Fab and Michin; the bout featured multiple rope-break controversies, including B-Fab placing Cargill’s foot on the rope during an earlier pin attempt and Flair later using Ripley’s foot on the ropes.
The win is Ripley’s first successful WWE-programming defense since defeating Cargill for the belt at WrestleMania 42 and marks her second reign as WWE Women’s Champion. Ripley’s decorated resume also includes two Women’s World Championships, NXT and NXT UK Women’s titles, two Women’s Tag Team Championships, the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble victory, and the 2023 Wrestling Observer Newsletter Women’s Wrestling MVP honor.
