Rhea Ripley to Kick Off SmackDown as Tiffany Stratton Issues U.S. Title Open Challenge
WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley will open Friday’s SmackDown in Lexington, Kentucky, and is expected to address Jade Cargill’s challenge that could make their rematch official for Clash in Italy on May 31. Ripley and Cargill are already set to collide in a six-woman tag at Saturday Night’s Main Event — Ripley teaming with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss against Cargill, Michin and B-Fab — after Ripley reclaimed the title from Cargill at WrestleMania 42.
Also announced for tonight, Women’s United States Champion Tiffany Stratton will issue an open challenge following her successful defense against Kiana James two weeks ago, while Carmelo Hayes returns with a message for U.S. Champion Trick Williams and Lil Yachty. The card also continues the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther build and features Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Talla Tonga at the Rupp Arena show.
