Ronda Rousey Reflects on WWE “Chaos” Under Vince McMahon Ahead of Carano Fight
Ronda Rousey told Complex News she often felt like she was performing an impression of herself during her WWE run under Vince McMahon, saying she enjoyed being in the ring but not the turmoil backstage. She noted a clear difference when she was allowed to write her own promos and said the environment during McMahon’s later years was chaotic and fraught with last‑minute changes.
Rousey described the period as a “sh*t show,” citing poor communication, anxiety and constant rewrites, and said she was “definitely team Triple H” to take over creative control, though she did not get to experience the post‑Triple H era. A two‑time WWE talent between 2017 and 2023, Rousey recently appeared at AEW Revolution for Marina Shafir and is now set to face Gina Carano on May 16 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, live on Netflix.
