Sting says Darby Allin “taught me how to live life to the fullest” as their AEW bond endures

Teaming with Darby Allin in AEW profoundly affected Sting both in and out of the ring, the veteran told ESPN ahead of Double or Nothing, where Allin defends the AEW World Championship against MJF in a hair-vs.-title rematch. The duo captured AEW Tag Team gold during Sting’s final years on the road, and Sting admitted Allin’s fearlessness rubbed off on him — sometimes they even took the same risky bumps — adding that Allin “taught me how to live life to the fullest.”

Sting was in Allin’s corner when he won the world title last month, and he sees Allin helping to carry his legacy forward as Sting’s sons Steven and Garrett begin wrestling careers, with Steven already working AEW dark matches and indies and debuting in October 2025 with Allin’s help; Garrett recently debuted for Dustin Rhodes’ Rhodes Wrestling Association. The partnership, Sting said, has forged a lifelong friendship that goes beyond the ring — they even still owe a round of miniature golf.
