Swerve Strickland Welcomes New Day to AEW, Praises Kofi and Xavier
Swerve Strickland says he’d love to see New Day join AEW but will back whatever path Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods choose after their May 2 WWE departures. Speaking on TMZ’s Inside the Ring, Strickland acknowledged the duo’s value and said he wants them to do what’s best for their careers, even if that means taking time off before deciding their next move.
Strickland also revealed he briefly texted Kingston and praised Kofi as a model professional and major inspiration for his April 2024 AEW World Championship run. He emphasized Kingston’s WrestleMania world-title moment as a singular legacy in the business and applauded the New Day members for everything they’ve contributed to wrestling.
