TNA IMPACT Ratings Rebound Slightly on April 30 After Record Low
After suffering a record low rating on April 23, TNA IMPACT staged a modest recovery on the April 30 broadcast, posting a slightly higher total viewership compared to the previous week. The uptick, while small, halted the downward slide in raw audience numbers and provided a brief boost to the program’s overall performance.
Importantly, IMPACT held firm in the key 18-49 demographic on April 30, indicating stability with advertisers and viewers in the prime age group. While the increase wasn’t dramatic, the steadiness in 18-49 suggests the show may have found a baseline as it looks to rebuild momentum in the weeks ahead.

Asuka Reportedly “Semi-Retired” Following WWE Backlash Loss
After falling to former mentee IYO SKY at WWE Backlash, Asuka shared an emotional embrace with Sky, and backstage reports suggest the veteran may now be “semi-retired.” On the post-Backlash edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said people were seen saying goodbye to Asuka, though he did not have specifics on what “semi-retired” entails — whether she’ll return to Japan, wrestle sporadically, or make occasional appearances — and co-host Bryan Alvarez expressed his regret at the potential departure.
There was also discussion that Asuka’s situation could be linked to recent roster changes, with mention of Kairi Sane’s release as context for possible cuts. The 44-year-old has been with WWE since 2015 and boasts a decorated resume: four main roster Women’s Championship reigns, one NXT Women’s Title, five Women’s Tag Team Championship reigns (three with Kairi Sane, one each with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss), as well as winning the 2020 Money in the Bank and the 2018 Women’s Royal Rumble; IYO SKY posted an emotional message thanking Asuka after the match.

Thekla Says She Received Death Threats Over STARDOM Angle
AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla says she received death threats and hostile treatment from fans after a controversial STARDOM angle in 2025. Following her loss to Saya Kurara at All Star Grand Queendom, Thekla attacked STARDOM president Taro Okada in an on-screen firing that led to her signing with AEW; she told Daily Express US fans were urging police involvement, telling her to leave the country and even spitting at her, which she took as a sign the angle was “actually really working.”
Thekla noted the storyline has been revisited at Arena México and STARDOM’s American Dream show in Las Vegas, and said she enjoys playing a heel—”I just love being a little prick”—while also reflecting on the odds of both her and WWE’s Gunther emerging from Austria, a country with a limited wrestling scene.
