Tony Khan on Wrestling Media: Comparing Standards to Sports Journalism
AEW owner Tony Khan weighed in on the role of wrestling media, stressing its importance in covering storylines, backstage developments and company operations. Khan said the media plays a key part in informing fans while balancing access and accountability, urging outlets to pursue accuracy and responsible reporting when covering wrestling companies and talent.
Khan also compared the journalistic standards of wrestling media to those of mainstream sports journalism, noting differences in expectations and approaches. He suggested wrestling coverage often blends entertainment storytelling with news reporting, and encouraged the industry to continue raising standards toward the objectivity and rigor seen in traditional sports media.
