Tony Khan says AEW could be “potentially viable” to counter WrestleMania 43 weekend

AEW President Tony Khan told media after Double or Nothing that the idea of staging a major AEW weekend in April — filling the gap while WWE holds WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia — is “potentially viable” and “a very interesting possibility.” Khan praised Double or Nothing as one of the company’s best nights, touted Mick Foley and Renee Paquette as a strong broadcast pairing, and discussed MyAEW’s international focus, MSG anecdotes, NYSAC rules compliance, and plans to include additional promotions on the service.

Other highlights from the scrum included Will Ospreay expressing interest in an Owen Hart Foundation tournament match with Swerve Strickland and his Wembley ambitions; Thekla backing Skye Blue and declaring herself the best; and Khan outlining ROH’s focus on younger talent, women, and pure wrestling, praising Darby Allin’s title run, hinting at a possible Fight for the Fallen ALS benefit, noting Dynamite matches are pending medical clearance, and saying he would consider usage of CMLL micro wrestlers.
