Two New Matches Announced for WWE Backlash After SmackDown Feuds

Sami Zayn’s destructive turn on the Gingerbread Man prop on SmackDown — tearing the costume apart and prompting Trick Williams to intervene — has been booked into a United States Title match at WWE Backlash on May 9 in Tampa, with Williams accusing Zayn of crossing a line. The bizarre funeral angle for the “deceased” Gingerbread Man will also air on next week’s SmackDown as the build continues.

Meanwhile, The Miz and Kit Wilson were twice duped by Danhausen and laid out the eerie star in a backstage ambush, leading to WWE adding a tag match pitting Miz & Wilson against Danhausen and a partner to be named (Nick Aldis has emerged as a possible ally). The additions join a Backlash card that already features Roman Reigns vs. Jacob Fatu, IYO SKY vs. Asuka and Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker.
