WWE Hires Jim Rodriguez as Senior Associate Producer; Wrestling World Mourns Ted Turner
WWE has announced the addition of Jim Rodriguez as a Senior Associate Producer — the former DAZN, Univision and ESPN production staffer said he’ll work across RAW, SmackDown and NXT and make trips to Mexico for AAA. The company also filed a trademark for “Naraku” for EVIL’s new NXT persona, uploaded NXT match content, and saw Paul Heyman promoting Backlash on ESPN amid other creative and roster updates.
The wrestling community has been paying tribute to media titan Ted Turner, with the NWA, MLW, Matt Hardy and former WCW executives publicly remembering his impact on the business. In other news, Will Ospreay told Forbes he’s limiting risky maneuvers after neck surgery — retiring the shooting star press — while expressing interest in potential matches with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods; GCW also announced Joey Janela vs. Hook and Leah Van Dale revealed a new podcast project.
