WWE Names Hunter Selby Director of Show Production and Design
WWE has appointed Hunter Selby as its new Director of Show Production and Design, a role Selby confirmed on LinkedIn, saying he’s “excited” to begin and looking forward to new designs debuting on screens. Selby brings three Emmy nominations for outstanding lighting design and direction, including credits for American Idol (2023, 2025) and SNL50: The Homecoming Concert.
The hire comes amid ongoing production and structural changes across WWE, including recent SmackDown graphic updates, as the company prepares for Backlash in Tampa on May 9. John Cena is confirmed to appear at the Premium Live Event, and five matches are booked: Roman Reigns vs. Jacob Fatu (World Heavyweight Championship), Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker, IYO SKY vs. Asuka, Sami Zayn vs. Trick Williams (U.S. Title rematch), and Danhausen teaming with a mystery partner against The Miz and Kit Wilson.
