WWE Quietly Begins Chelsea Green Babyface Turn After SmackDown
Chelsea Green drew a noticeably different reaction on Friday’s SmackDown in Barcelona, and WWE appears to be steering her toward a full babyface push. Small backstage beats — from a rebuffed approach to Blake Monroe to a visible sadness when Tiffany Stratton declined to accompany her — culminated in Green selling as a sympathetic underdog in her match with Nia Jax, celebrating Stratton’s intervention more than the victory itself.
The turn may have been seeded by Michael Hayes’ WWE Unreal comments about Green not being a main-eventer, a potential litmus test for crowd support that reportedly backfired in her favor. Given Green’s consistent positive reactions on the road and her entertaining main-roster presence, a momentum-driven run — and even a shot at gold within a year — feels plausible if WWE commits to the direction.
