WWE Says Recent NXT Cuts Were Talent Evaluations, Not Budget-Driven
WWE has indicated the recent NXT roster releases were made as part of talent evaluations rather than budgetary reductions, per reporting from Bryan Alvarez. Names released include Tyra Mae Steele, Carlee Bright, Sirena Linton, Tyson DuPont, Tyriek Igwe, Chris Island, Malik Blade, Trill London, Andre Chase, and Luca Crucifino; all are subject to 30-day non-compete clauses that expire on May 24.
Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer added context, noting Steele (Olympic gold medalist Tamyra Mensah-Stock and LFG winner) had been positioned for the NXT roster but “did not impress” after a brief push. Meltzer also reported Bright and Linton were cut the day before the current LFG season began, when they were competing for an NXT television spot, with Bright recently appearing in a commercial alongside Rhea Ripley.
