WWE to Pre-Tape Fourth of July Weekend SmackDown, Headlines Atlantic City Return
WWE announced it will pre-tape the Fourth of July weekend edition of SmackDown as part of a combined Raw/SmackDown event at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on Monday, June 29. Raw will air live that night while SmackDown is expected to be broadcast in its normal Friday slot on July 3; the show marks WWE’s first televised event in Atlantic City since 2008 and is presented in partnership with Visit Atlantic City, the Atlantic City Sports Commission and Oak View Group as the country approaches its 250th Independence Day.
The promotion also revealed that SmackDown’s June 26 episode will be taped in London on June 23 as the go-home show for the Night of Champions PLE, and rolled out 16 new domestic Raw and SmackDown dates from late June through early September. Tickets for all announced dates go on general sale Friday, May 15 at 10 a.m. local time.
