Adam Copeland Says It Was a Shame Vince McMahon Didn’t Understand What Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest Had

Adam Copeland, known to WWE fans as Edge and now performing in AEW, revealed that Vince McMahon initially asked him to form a Brood-style group and Copeland immediately picked Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest as the two people he wanted alongside him. In an interview with SHAK Wrestling, Copeland said McMahon was surprised by the choice, which made him realize the chairman “didn’t understand what he had” in Ripley and Priest and that it was a shame.

Copeland said the faction’s direction changed after Cody Rhodes’ 2022 injury and Finn Balor eventually joined and turned on him, leading to a year-long feud that culminated with Copeland defeating the Demon Finn Balor in a Hell in a Cell match at WWE WrestleMania 39.
