AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door talent reportedly still in the dark on plans
With Forbidden Door set for June 28, 2026 at the SAP Center in San Jose, Fightful Select reports that multiple talents from AEW, NJPW and CMLL remain unaware of their roles for the cross-promotional pay-per-view. Several wrestlers told Fightful this isn’t unusual and that they expect to learn their matches during the week of the event.
Fightful also named Gabe Kidd as someone once expected to play a major part in this year’s show, noting NJPW title plans were scrapped after a shoulder injury suffered at Dynasty 2026; Kidd returned last week and announced for the G1. Sources say his involvement at Forbidden Door is uncertain and that AEW is keeping plans close to the vest.
