On his Phenomenally Retro podcast, AJ Styles urged WWE to take advantage of Chad Gable’s newfound momentum following Gable’s mask vs. mask loss at AAA Noche de los Grandes, calling him “a bigger superstar than he’s ever been” and insisting the company would be “dumb” not to capitalize. Styles said Gable could be a heavyweight champion, praising him as a legitimately dangerous pro wrestler and emphasizing that WWE should push him accordingly.

Gable’s dramatic feud with El Grande Americano culminated in the high-profile mask match, after which Gable praised Americano and vowed to return to AAA. He reappeared on Friday’s SmackDown to apologize to Rey Fenix for his recent actions; Fenix accepted the apology but reminded Gable there are other luchadores he still needs to face.
