Andre Chase says NXT creative had no clear reason for Chase U disbandment
Andre Chase told former NXT star Duke Hudson on Between Two Jobs that WWE informed him the decision to disband Chase University but offered no substantive explanation. Chase pushed back with hard metrics — citing Heatwave and No Mercy merchandise sales that rivaled then-champions Trick Williams and Roxanne Perez, plus strong TV ratings and frequent segment bookings — yet was told simply that “this is the direction we’re going.”
Chase said the exchange made clear creative had already decided and wouldn’t engage in a discussion about the business case for keeping the group together. He also revealed he had been offered an NXT coach role before choosing to remain an in-ring performer, and was released by WWE in April.
