Andre Chase Says WWE Initially Offered Him a Coaching Role Before Signing as Talent
Andre Chase officially signed with WWE in February 2021 after a tryout conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously known as Harlem Bravado in EVOLVE, Chase did not move to WWE when EVOLVE was acquired in July 2020 and remained in talks before eventually joining the company.
Chase revealed that WWE originally wanted to bring him in as a coach — a position that reportedly came with a higher salary — but the arrangement evolved into a talent contract following conversations with EVOLVE founder Gabe Sapolsky and subsequent negotiations.
